Eimear Martin

Having grown up in Dundalk I was educated in St Joseph's National School, Muirhevna Mor and then the Grammar School. I went on to study Law at University followed by a Masters in Business Innovation and Postgraduate Diploma in Investment Compliance.

I previously worked for Senator Ged Nash where I helped people and communities on a wide range of issues. This role gave me a clear understanding of the issues that people in my community face and I have built up essential knowledge and experience of how to deal with various issues and make use of the different support systems that are available.

I learned the importance of good public representation whilst working for Ged and I witnessed first hand the important work that our representatives do on a daily basis and the many benefits this brings to individuals and communities alike. Being involved with Ged inspired to be more involved in my own community and listen to those that are in need and to be a voice and a help for them. Putting my community first is what is important to me.

I believe that we need stronger policies on housing, planning and infrastructure to support growth in our town. I know all too well the issues that young people face when trying to get on their feet and highlighting the issues of pay discrimination, third level education fees and the rental and housing markets are a key priority for me.

I have been a member of the Labour Party since 2007 and I come from a proud working class Labour background. I currently work in Penneys in the supply chain team.

I want to work with the people of Dundalk and my community, your representation is my top priority. Please feel free to get in touch with me about any issues that you may have, I would be more that willing to help in any way that I can.
